While classes in the Bryan school district don’t resume until Monday, school buses started running Thursday and will be back out on Friday.
Bryan ISD communications director Brandon Webb says the two days of test runs are due to the combination of new school hours and new bus routes that will start Monday.
School hours were changed to bring consistency around the district. Webb says all elementary schools will have the same hours, as will the two intermediate campuses, the two middle schools, and the two comprehensive high schools.
And Bryan ISD is incorporating recommendations from a consultant that according to the district’s website “completely re-routed all bus riders, eliminated transfer hubs, designed a system that keeps similarly-aged children on buses together and returns to a more traditional model of directly busing to and from home and school.”
Additional information is on school marquee signs outside each campus and online at campus websites and at the transportation webpage at bryanisd.org.
